Nakatakdang ilunsad ngayong araw ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang mga bagong disaster response vehicles na ide-deploy sa iba’t ibang rehiyon.
Pangungunahan ni DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, Senator Joel Villanueva, at United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Country Director Regis Chapman ang ceremonial launch ng emergency response vehicles sa National Resource Operations Center (NROC) sa Pasay City.
Kabilang sa ilulunsad ang mobile kitchens, mobile water treatment, water tanker trucks, forklifts, at isang reach truck.
Ayon kay DSWD Spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao, ang mga bagong emergency response vehicles ay bahagi ng hakbang ng kagawaran na mailapit ang serbisyo nito sa publiko lalo na sa mga tinatamaan ng kalamidad.
Ang mga mobile kitchen ay gagamitin para magdala ng hot meals sa internally displaced persons (IDPs) and families habang ang mga mobile water treatment at water tanker trucks naman ay idinesenyo para maghatid ng tubig sa evacuation centers.
Gagamitin naman ang forklifts at reach trucks para mapabilis ang proseso ng repacking at prepositioning ng family food packs (FFPs). | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
