Pinuri ni dating senador at PNP chief at ngayo’y 2025 senatorial candidate Ping Lacson ang kapulisan sa paglutas ng kidnap-slay ng Tsinoy na negosyanteng si Anson Que at ang kanyang driver na si Armanie Pabillo.
Kasabay nito ay mahalaga, aniya, na mahatulan ang lahat ng sangkot sa naturang insidente.
“Just as we criticized the PNP for the kidnap-slay of Anson Que and Armanie Pabillo, we must now give them credit for the arrest of 3 out of at least 5 suspects. Equally important is the conviction of ALL the perpetrators by building an airtight case,” ani Lacson.
Diniin din ni Lacson na importante ang pakikipag-ugnayan ng publiko sa awtoridad para malutas ang kaso.
“Without that, the victims will be at the mercy of the kidnappers,” giit ni Lacson.
Kailangan din, aniya, na hindi lang mabawi kundi maisauli rin ang ransom money na ibinayad para kina Que.
Ani Lacson, malaki ang maitutulong nito lalo na sa PNP para makuha muli ang tiwala ng publiko, lalo na ang Chinese Filipino community.
Iginiit din niya na malaki ang magiging papel ng Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) sa paglutas ng kaso.
“Recovering even a portion of the ransom money and returning the same to the victim’s family will further help the PNP regain the trust and confidence of the public,” sabi niya.
Kinilala din ni dating DILG Sec. Benhur Abalos ang PNP, sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Chief Gen. Rommel Marbil, para sa mabilis na pagkakalutas ng kaso.
Naniniwala siya na ang tagumpay na ito ay mensahe na hindi palalampasin ng mga otoridad ang ganitong uri ng krimen.
“I commend our police force led by PNP Chief General Rommel Francisco Marbil for a job well done. This is a very hard task since our investigators literally started from scratch, yet, they were able to pinpoint one of the key players,” saad ni Abalos.
Mahalaga rin, ani Abalos, ang pagkaka-aresto sa suspek na si David Tan Liao na nagpatunay sa kaugnayan sa parehong grupo sa hindi bababa sa limang kaso ng pagdukot para sa ransom.
“With this kind of investigation skills, I am confident that they would be able to identify the rest of those involved, particularly the persons who ordered the kidnapping and killing of Anson Que and his driver Armanie Pabillo,” dagdag pa nito. | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
