Binatikos ni House Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega ang pagsuway ni VP Sara Duterte subpoena na inilabas ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Aniya, insulto sa mga oridnaryong Pilipino na sumusnod na batas ang pagiging arogante ng bise.
“By refusing to comply with the subpoena, she is sending a message: ‘The law doesn’t apply to me.’ That is not leadership. That is arrogance. Her refusal is an insult to every ordinary Filipino who follows the law. If an ordinary citizen ignored a subpoena, he would face consequences immediately,” sabi ni Ortega.
Ipinatawag ng NBI si Duterte para pagpaliwanagin sa binitiwan nitong pagbabanta laban kina Pang. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos at Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Una nang nagdesisyon ang House Blue Ribbon Committee na kanselahing ang nakatakda nilang hearing ngayong araw para bigyang daan ang pagharap ng bise sa NBI.
Ayaw kasi aniya nila magamit na dahilan ng hindi pagsipot ng bise.
Pero sa paliwanag ng legal counsel ng bise, inirason nila na abala ito sa paghahanda sa pag-dinig ng House Blue Ribbon Committee kaya hindi makakadalo.
Hindi rin aniya nila agad natanggap ang abiso na kanselado ang pag-dinig ngayong araw.
“If she continues to defy the law, she’s not just undermining the NBI; she’s undermining the entire justice system. We cannot allow anyone, no matter how powerful, to act as if the law is optional.
