Inatasan na ni Land Transportation Office (LTO) Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II ang lahat ng Regional Directors at district offices na maglaan ng special lanes para makapagparehistro ang delinquent motor vehicle owners.
Bahagi ito ng kampanyang “Oplan Balik Rehistro, Be Road Ready” na layong mairehistro ang nasa 24.7 milyong motor vehicles na paso na ang registration.
Sa ilalim nito, lahat ng may-ari ng mga sasakyan at motorsiklo na boluntaryong magpaparehistro ay bibigyan ng prayoridad sa lahat ng district offices ng LTO.
Hinikayat naman ni LTO Asec. Mendoza ang mga motorista na samantalahin na ang special lanes na ito dahil mas malaki ang kanilang babayaran kapag nahuli pang walang rehistro ang kanilang sasakyan o motorsiklo.
“That is why we are reaching out to the delinquent motor vehicle owners in order for them to avoid these stiff penalties and this includes providing priority lanes for them in all our district and extension offices,” Mendoza.
Una na ring inanunsyo ni Mendoza ang planong pagsasagawa ng “One Stop Shop/Service Caravan/Outreach Program” para mas mailapit ang serbisyo ng LTO sa mga motorista partikular na sa pagpaparehistro ng delinquent motor vehicles.
“We are implementing programs to reach out to our clients so that they will be encouraged to register their motor vehicles. Ayaw din namin sa LTO na dumating pa sa punto ng panghuhuli dahil sa laki ng penalties na babayaran,” Mendoza. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
