Ito ang inihayag ni Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. sa kanyang regular na press briefing ngayong umaga, kasabay ng pagbibigay ng ulat sa estado ng imbestigasyon sa mga naturang kaso.

Ayon kay Gen. Azurin, lumalabas sa imbestigasyon na ang mga responsable ay may iba’t ibang motibo at hindi nito sinasalamin ang pangkalahatang peace and order situation sa bansa.

Matatandaang bago ang pag-atake kay Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo nitong Sabado, nag-survive sa ambush si Lanao Del Sur Governor Mamintal Adiong noong February 17, at nasawi naman si Aparri Cagayan Vice Mayor Rommel Alameda nitong February 19; habang sugatan naman ang Mayor ng Datu Montawal, Maguindanao Del Sur sa pamamaril sa Pasay city nitong February 22; at patay sa pamamaril si Barangay Chairman Vivencio Palo sa Barangay San Carlos, Lipa City noong February 26.
