Inatasan ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) ang kanilang counterpart sa MIMAROPA Region para sa pagbuo ng isang task force.

Ito ay para tumugon sa lumalalang oil spill mula sa 800 metriko toneladang langis kasunod ng paglubog ng M/T Princess Empress, sa bahagi ng Oriental Mindoro.

Batay sa inilabas na memorandum order ni NDRRMC Executive Director, Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno ngayong araw, pinamo-monitor din nila sa Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) MIMAROPA ang development kasabay ng pagpapatupad ng mga hakbang para pigilan ito.

Aniya, bubuo sa task force ang mga kinatawan mula sa OCD-MIMAROPA, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard Southern Tagalog District, Armed Forces of the Philippines Southern Luzon Command, at mga lokal na pamahalaan.

Magugunitang naperwisyo ang mga bayan ng Pola, Pinamalayan, Naujan at Bongabong sa Oriental Mindoro matapos maabot ng oil spill. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
