Ikinalugod ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) ang pagkakapasa sa House Committee on Dangerous Drugs ng House Bill No. 91, o β€œ Magna Carta of Benefits for the Officers and Personnel of the PDEA”.

Bilang lead agency sa kampanya ng gobyerno kontra illegal drugs, palaging nahaharap sa peligro ang buhay ng PDEA personnel.

Sa kabila ng kanilang kritikal na papel sa national anti-drug campaign, hindi umano sila gaanong nabibigyang prayoridad sa aspeto ng kanilang well being at economic welfare.

Layon ng Magna Carta Bill na isulong ang mas kaaya-ayang living at working conditions ng mga opisyal at tauhan ng PDEA, mas mahusay na terms of employment at career opportunities, upang mas epektibo nilang magampanan ang kanilang mandato.

Sa ilalim ng panukala, ang mga PDEA Officer at ibang personnel ay makakatanggap ng iba’t ibang allowances/benefits maliban sa kanilang basic salary, alinsunod sa Salary Standardization Law. | ulat ni Michael Rogas
