Pilipinas, napanatili ang Tier 1 Ranking sa US 2023 Trafficking in Persons Report

Napanatili ng bansang Pilipinas ang Tier 1 Ranking sa US 2023 Trafficking in Persons Report ng walong magkasunod na taon.

Ayon sa Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report na inilabas ni U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken sa U.S. Department of State, nakamit ng pamahalaan ang mga minimum standard ng Trafficking Victims Protection Act para masugpo ang human trafficking.

Ilan sa mga hakbang na kinilala ng report ay ang pag-iimbestiga sa mga insidente ng human trafficking, pagsasampa ng kaso at pagpapanagot sa mga suspect, pag-aamyenda sa mga batas laban sa trafficking, at padagdagdag ng pondo sa Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT).

Para kay Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Wendell Bendoval, OIC-Executive Director ng IACAT, bagama’t kinikinalala nila ang pagkamit ng pinakamataas na ranking sa US TIP Report, kalakip nito ang malaking responsibilidad ng pamahalaan na paigtingin ang mga hakbang para masawata ang anumang uri ng human trafficking.| ulat ni Bernard Jaudian Jr.
