Sitwasyon ng Bulkang Taal at Mayon, bantay sarado pa rin ng PHIVOLCS

Mahigpit pa ring naka-monitor ang Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) sa lagay ng Bulkang Taal at Bulkang Mayon na magkasunod nagpakita ng mga abnormalidad nitong mga nakaraang araw.

Batay sa 24hr monitoring ng PHIVOLCS, nagtala ng dalawang volcanic earthquake at 46 na rockfall events ang bulkang Mayon.

Umakyat naman sa 574 tonelada ang gas output o ang ibinubugang asupre (sulfur dioxide) ng bulkan habang patuloy rin ang pamamaga nito.

Samantala, mayroon namang naitalang volcanic tremor sa Bulkang Taal.

Umabot rin sa 7,680 tonelada ang SO2 emission ng Bulkang Taal na may upwelling ng mainit na volcanic fluids sa Main Crater Lake.

Naitala rin ang malakas na pagsingaw na nasa 2,000 metro ang taas ng plumes na napadpad sa direksyon ng hilagang-kanluran.

Nananatili sa Alert level 1 ang Taal Volcano habang nasa Alert level 2 naman ang Mayon Volcano. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
