Iminungkahi ni Bagong Henerasyon partylist Rep. Bernadette Herrera na ituloy ng pamahalaan ang ilan sa inilunsad na programa noong kasagsagan ng COVID-19 upang matulungan ang mga negosyo na maipatupad ang dagdag sahod sa mga manggagawa.
Kasabay ito ng pagpapasalamat sa NCR wage board sa pag-apruba ng dagdag na ₱40 sa daily minimum wage ng mga nagta-trabaho sa Metro Manila.
Ayon kay Herrera ang taas sahod na ito ay makatutulong na rin para maibalik ang ‘purchasing power’ ng mga mamimili.
Para naman aniya makasunod sa wage hike ang small at medium enterprise ay hinimok ni Herrera ang Small Business Corporation na palawigin ang ibinibigay nitong wage support loan.
Maaari din aniyang ilapit ng DOLE sa Kongreso ang pagbuhay sa COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program o CAMP para makatulong din sa pagpapatupad ng minimum wage rates.
“For small and medium enterprises who may have some difficulty complying with the new minimum wage rate in Metro Manila, I suggest the Small Business Corporation continue to extend its wage support loan program and perhaps expand its coverage or inclusions. The Department of Labor and Employment can also suggest to Congress the revival of the CAMP but reconfigure it to assist small firms who need help on complying with the new minimum wage rates in NCR.” ani Herrera. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
