Siniguro ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) na mayroong nakalatag na safeguards sa deployment ng digital national ID laban sa hackers at scammers.
Pahayag ito ni DICT Secretary John Ivan Uy, sa gitna ng pagpapabilis na gagawin ng pamahalaan sa pagbababa ng digital IDs ng mga Pilipino bilang pagtalima sa kautusan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
Sa press briefing sa Malacañang, sinabi ng kalihim na hindi mangyayari ang naganap sa ginawang test ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), kung saan tinanggap sa SIM card registration ang pekeng ID na ginamitan ang larawan ng matsing.
“We develop strategies and procedures in order to plug those holes; they find another one then, so it’s a continuing … it’s an arms race, kumbaga, to do so. But we are practicing best practices in cyber security in order to protect the data.” —Secretary Uy
Ayon sa kalihim, lahat ng kanilang sistema bago pa i-develop nakalatag na ang security features, kung saan iyong pinakamagandang breed ng security aniya ang kanilang ginagamit.
“All our systems are developed with security in mind ‘no. So this is what we call and our approach, security by design. Meaning, security is not afterthought. Kumbaga, from the beginning, when we design it, it’s already with security features.
