Alok ng gobyerno na retail dollar bond, nakalikom ng $1.26 billion investments

Nakalikom ang pamahalaan ng tinatayang $1.26 billion mula sa kauna-unahang retail bond sa ilalim administrasyong Marcos Jr.

Ayon sa Department of Finance (DOF), una nilang itinakda sa $1 billion ang iaalok na retail bond ngunit nadagdagan ng hanggang $1.26 billion.

Sinabi ni Deputy Treasurer Erwin Sta. Ana, bagaman sa kasalukuyang sitwasyon ng merkado, maganda pa rin ang naging turnout ng retail dollar bond auction.

Ayon kay Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno, ang RTB ay sinamahan nila ng “premium” dahil nais ng pamahalahan na himukin ang mga overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) na mag-invest, kaya inalok nila ito sa mababang halaga na $200.

Ang dollar-denominated five-and-a-half-year bonds ay may interes ng tinatayang 5.75% na kada taon at tax free.| ulat ni Melany V. Reyes
