Natuklasang paggasta ng OVP sa confidential funds nito, ikinaalarma ni Sen. Risa Hontiveros

Sang-ayon si Senadora Risa Hontiveros na kaduda-duda ang naging paggamit ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) at ng Department of Education (DepEd) ng kanilang confidential fund. 

Tinutukoy ng senadora ang 16 million pesos sa 125 million pesos na confidential funds ng OVP noong 2022 na ginamit para sa rental and maintenance ng safe houses.

Ayon kay Hontiveros, kinukumpirma lang nito ang nauna na niyang panawagan na limitahan ang paggamit ng confidential at intelligence funds sa mga ahensya ng gobyerno. 

Dapat aniyang binibigyan lang nito ang mga may mandatong may direktang kaugnayan sa national security at law enforcement. 

Kung hindi kasi aniya ay maaari itong magamit sa maling paraan. 

Isinusulong rin ni Hontiveros na mas mahigpitan at gawing mas detalyado ang auditing at accountability mechanisms sa paggamit ng CIF. | ulat ni Nimfa Asuncion
