DSWD chief welcomes DFAT, WFP execs to agency’s national warehouse facility

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian tours the executives of the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the World Food Programme (WFP) around the agency’s National Resource Operations Center (NROC) in Pasay City on Friday (March 14).

The tour showcased the warehouse management of the Department and it also highlighted the DSWD-DFAT-WFP partnership in enhancing the Philippines’ humanitarian supply chain and emergency management capacity.

Leading the DFAT officials during the tour were Multilateral and Europe Group Deputy Secretary for Development Jamie Isbister and Australian Ambassador to the Philippines HK Yu.

The WFP team was led by Representative and Country Director Regis Chapman, with WFP Emergency Officer Hannes Goegele and WFP Head of Supply Chain Joao Merencio.

Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao of the DSWD Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) and DRMG Special Assistant to the Secretary and Con-Current Officer-in-Charge of the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB) Leo Quintilla facilitated the NROC tour.
