Popondohan ng β‚±84.4-million ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang plano nitong Cash-For-Work (CFW) Program para sa mga mangingisdang naapektuhan ng oil spill mula sa lumubog na MR Princess Empress.

Ayon sa DSWD, tina-target nitong matulungan ang higit 14,000 indibidwal na bibigyan ng temporary employment kapalit ng emergency cash transfer equivalent na katumbas naman ng regional minimum wage sa MIMAROPA.

Sa ngayon ay hinihintay na lang aniya ng ahensya ang go signal mula sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) bago simulan ang programa na tatagal ng 15 araw.

Kaugnay nito, tuloy-tuloy pa rin naman ang pamamahagi ng ayuda ng DSWD sa mga apektadong lalawigan sa MIMAROPA at Western Visayas Region.
