Pormal nang inilunsad ng dalawang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang e-Congress.

Ang e-Congress ay isang digital legislative management system na layong pabilisin ang trabaho ng legislative secretariat at gawing mas accessible sa publiko ang mga impormasyon kaugnay ng mga panukalang batas na inihain at napagtibay ng Senado at House of Representatives.

Pinangunahan ito nina Senior Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo na kumatawan kay House Speaker Romualdez sa panig ng Kamara at ni Senate Presideng Migz Zubiri para sa Senado.

Sina House Secretary General Reginald Velasco at Senate Secretary General Renato Bantug Jr. ang lumagda ng memorandum of agreement.

Ayon sa mensahe ni Speaker Romualdez, ang eCongress ay tugon ng Kongreso sa panawagan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na digitization, harmonization at pag iisa ng mga record at transaksyon ng gobyerno.

Sa hiwalay na pahayag naman ni House Majority leader, sinabi nito na amg eCongress ang pinaka mainam na panlaban sa mga β€˜Marites’ at fake news.

Pagbabahagi naman ni Sen. President Migz Zubiri, simula rin ang eCongress sa transition ng dalawang Kapulungan sa paperless transaction.
