Puspusan na ang ginagawang mga hakbang ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) para maresolba ang problema ng mga kumukuha ng driver’s license partikular ang singil sa mga driving school.

Sa pahayag ni LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Jay Art Tugade sa pagdalo nito sa Balitaan sa Tinapayan, nakumpleto na ng binuo niyang komite ang pagre-review sa mga panuntunan ng ahensya kaugnay sa accreditation ng mga driving school.

Sinabi ni Tugade, na magkakaroon na lamang sila ng consultative meeting para ilatag ng LTO ang mga rekomendasyon sa isyu ng pagsasailalim sa driving schools ng mga indibidwal na nais kumuha ng lisensiya.

Nabatid na una nang inirereklamo ang mataas na singil sa pagkuha ng lisensiya kung saan umaabot ng hanggang P15,000 hanggang P18,000 ang magagastos.

Dagdag pa ni Tugade, sakaling magkasundo ang LTO at stakeholders magkakaroon na ng standard na fees na sinisingil ng driving schools sa bansa.

Matatandaan na isang technical working group (TWG) ang pinabuo ni Tugade nang maupo ito sa tungkulin noong Nobyembre, upang muling mapag-aralan ang mga panuntunan hinggil sa operasyon at sinisingil ng mga driving school kasama na ang medical clinic. | ulat ni Lorenz Tanjoco
