Malaki ang pasasalamat ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez sa maagap na pagtugon ng mga awtoridad sa kaso ng pagpatay kay Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.

Sa naging briefing ng Philippine National Police (PNP) Region 7, kasama si Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos, ay pinapurihan ni Romualdez ang PNP at iba pang law enforcement agencies dahil sa loob lamang ng 24-oras ay may mga suspek nang nahuli.

Apela naman nito sa mga awtoridad na huwag tigilan ang manhunt sa iba pang sangkot sa krimen.

“Kahapon lang nagsalita po ako at hinamon ko ang ating secretary, ang chief PNP, at ang chief of staff, at ang law enforcers, at within 24 hours nagpapasalamat naman rin ako na most of the suspects have already been apprehended. So huwag naman natin tigilan itong manhunt dahil there’s still on the loose, at we have also to ferret out who is the mastermind of this heinous crime,” ani Romualdez.

Nangako rin ang House leader, kasama si Negros Oriental 2nd District Representative Manuel Sagarbarria na tututukan ng Kamara ang pagtitiyak sa peace and order sa bansa.

Bahagi aniya nito ang pagdaragdag ng budget para sa PNP at AFP upang magampanan nilang mabuti ang kanilang mandato at upang makamit ang hustisya

“We on the part of House Of Representatives assure the people of Negros Oriental that we will do everything to provide, our, not just the local government but our Secretary that PNP and the Armed Forces, particularly now that we know that there is a great demand for more peace and order for their budget and for whatever requirements we ensure them that we shall support you in the quest for justice,” dagdag ng mambabatas.
