Nanindigan ang Department of National Defense (DND) na wala pang pangangailangan para ilagay sa State of Emergency ang lalawigan ng Negros Oriental.

Ito ang inihayag ni Defense Officer-in-Charge, Senior Undersecretary Carlito Galvez makaraang ianunsyo nito ang pagbuo nila ng isang Special Task Force na siyang tutulong sa Pulisya na tugisin ang iba pang salarin sa Degamo slay case.

Pero nilinaw ni Galvez na ginamit lamang ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang kaniyang calling out orders para mapabilis ang pagtugis sa iba pang mga nasa likod ng krimen.
