Pinaigting ngayon ng Philippine Coast Guard-Island Garden City of Samal Station ang pagsasagawa ng recreational safety enforcement inspections sa lahat ng resorts sa lungsod bilang paghahanda sa pagdagsa ng mga turista dito.

Sa isang press conference, sinabi ng station commander nito na si Ensign Vasit Venturillo na inaasahan nilang dadagsain ng mga bisita ang kanilang lungsod dahil na rin sa pagbabalik face-to-face activities sa month-long celebration ng Araw ng Dabaw.

Paliwanag ni Venturillo na may ilang mga turista na makikisaya sa selebrasyon sa Davao City ang tatawid sa nasabing isla para rin maranasan ang ganda ng baybayin nito.

Kaya, bilang pagsiguro sa kaligtasan ng mga turista, regular nilang tinitingnan kung nakakasunod sa safety standards ang mga nasabing resorts.

Ayon sa opisyal na nagpadala na rin sila ng notice of non-compliance sa mga resorts na hindi nakasunod sa ilang panuntunan sa safety practices.

Inilunsad ni Venturillo na sa kabuoan, mayroong 139 resorts ang lungsod na regular nilang nililibot.
