Umapela si PBA Partylist Rep. Margarita “Migs” Nograles sa mga transport group na huwag nang ituloy ang planong transport strike.

Aniya, mismong si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na ang nagsabi at nangako na ipagpapatuloy ang mga diskusyon at pakikipag-usap sa kanilang hanay patungkol sa pagpapatupad ng Jeepney Modernization Program.

Maliban dito, iniurong na rin naman ng Department of Transportation at LTFRB ang deadline para sa consolidation requirement sa ilalim ng programa.

“This call for a nationwide transport strike is unnecessary and premature.  The president has already made a commitment to hold more consultations with our stakeholders, so I appeal to our drivers and operators to reject this plan to disrupt our public transport.” ani Nograles.

Punto pa ng lady solon, kailangang tanggapin ng mga operator at driver na panahon nang baguhin ang transport system ng bansa para na rin sa kaligtasan ng mga pasahero at mas maayos na oportunidad at kita para sa kanilang pagtra-trabaho.

“I don’t think it is accurate to say that the modernization program will dislocate our drivers and operators.  Who else would be running these modernized jeepneys but them? If we can modernize our jeepneys, the next big step is to also modernize the system by which we operate these jeepneys. If we have an efficient system, our drivers can save more on fuel and earn more because of higher capacity and higher number of trips.
