β€œWomen deserve most respect” ito ang ibinahagi ni Nurunnisah A. Tan, President ng Sulu Provincial Women’s Council (SPWC) sa selebrasyon ng National Women’s Month ngayong araw sa Sulu Provincial Gym.

Ang kababaihan sa panahon ngayon ay hindi na simbolo ng karupukan at kahinaan kumpara dati na tingin sa mga kababaihan ay mahina at napag-iiwanan lalo na sa edukasyon, negosyo at paghawak ng anumang posisyon sa gobyerno.

Mahalagang kilalanin ng lahat aniya ang kakayahan ng mga kababaihan na kaya ring makasabay sa ibang kasarian sa anumang larangan. 

Kaya aniya at kailangan ng mga kababaihan na magkaroon ng financial independence, career growth, decision making at marami pang iba na hindi limitado sa isang kasarian lamang.

Patuloy din ang panghihikayat nito sa lahat ng mga kababaihan na huwag matakot lumapit sa kanila, handa aniyang tumulong ang SPWC sa mga kababaihan na inaabuso, sa katunayan tuloy-tuloy ang pagtugon ng council sa mga Violence against women (VAW) cases sa lalawigan.

Panawagan din niya sa bawat Women’s Council sa mga munisipalidad na tiyaking bukas sila sa kanilang nasasakupan upang matiyak na mayroong matatakbuhan ang mga kapwa kababaihan.

Kabilang din sa mga programa ng SPWC ay ang pagpapanatili ng kalinisan sa bayan, aniya mayroon 52 SPWC sweeper na tumutulong upang matiyak ang ganda at linis ng kapaligiran. | ulat ni Eloiza Mohammad | RP1 Jolo
