Hinimok ni Camarines Sur Representative LRay Villafuerte si Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri na ituloy na ang pulong sa pagitan ng mga kongresista at senador hinggil sa isinusulong na pag-amyenda sa 1987 Constitution at buksan ito sa publiko.
Ito ang apela ng mambabatas matapos kanselahin ng Senado ang dapat sana’y pagharap ng ilang kongresista sa pangunguna ni House Committee on Constitutional Amendments Chair Rufus Rodriguez sa pagtalakay ng Resolution of Both Houses No. 6 at House Bill 7352 o Constitutional Convention Act.
Paliwanag ni Zubiri, minabuti nito na huwag papuntahin sina Rodriguez sa pagdinig ng komite ni Senador Robinhood Padilla nitong Lunes, March 20, upang hindi malabag ang Interparliamentary Courtesy.
Sa halip, ay magpupulong na lamang sa pamamagitan ng executive session.
Ngunit diin ni Villafuerte ang nais ni Zubiri na executive session ay lalo lamang magdudulot ng hinala at alinlangan sa publiko na may iba pang amyenda na nais gawin sa konstitusyon.
“The last thing we need is to hold such a meeting behind closed doors, which is the apparent preference of the Senate President, as such a secretive engagement would not afford our people a golden opportunity to hear from our senators and House members the pros and cons of constitutional reform, and which between the Con-Con and Con-Ass (Constituent Assembly) is the better route to tweaking our 36-year-old Charter,” saad ni Villafuerte.
