Senador Gatchalian, naniniwalang hindi magtataas ng red at yellow alert ang NGCP ngayong summer

Kampante si Senador Sherwin Gatchalian na hindi magtataas ng red o yellow alert ang National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) ngayong summer, dahil sa pagkakaroon ng reserbang enerhiya ng bansa.

Ayon kay Gatchalian, kaiba sa mga nakalipas na panahon ay mayroong 600 megawatts na ancillary reserves ang NGCP.

Ito ay matapos imandato ng Department of Energy (DOE) at ng Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) na magkaroon ng reserba ang NGCP na naka-standby na kung ano man ang mangyari.

Matatandaang kadalasang nagiging manipis ang suplay ng kuryente tuwing tag-init o dry season sa bansa dahil sa taas ng demand sa kuryente.

Katunayan nitong Pebrero, una nang sinabi ng NGCP na maaaring numipis ang power supply ngayong summer.

Gayunpaman nitong Marso lang rin ay tiniyak na ng DOE na walang magiging rotational brownout. | ulat ni Nimfa Asuncion
