DOTr, kinumpirma na natanggap na nila ang liham mula European Commission na nagkokonsidera sa kasalukuyang STCW certification ng Filipino seafarers

Kinumpirma ng Deparment of Transportation (DOTr) na natanggap na ng kanilang kagawaran ang sulat mula sa European Commission ang pag-reconsider ng EC sa kasalukuyang Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) na hawak ng ating mga marino na naka-on board sa European vessels.

Sa isang forum nitong weekend sinabi ni DOTr Spokesperson Joni Gesmundo na Biyernes ng gabi nang matanggap ng Maritime Industry Authority o MARINA ang sulat mula sa EC na nagpapahintulot na irekonsidera ang mga kasalukuyang STCW certificates ng ating mga marino na kasalukuyang naka-on board sa European vessels.

Dagdag pa ni Gesmundo na isinasapinal na ng DMW at ng Maritime Industry Authority o Marina ang technical cooperation mula sa European Commission para sa patuloy na trainings mula sa EC upang mas mapa igting pa ang kaalaman ng ating pinoy seafarers sa ating bansa.

Sa huli nagpapasalamat ang DOTR sa ginawang pagrereconsider ng European Commission sa naging tugon nito na mas mapalawig pa ang certificate na STCW ng ating mga Pinoy seafarers sa kanilang mga barko. | ulat ni Arrian Jeff Ignacio
