MERALCO at Aboitiz Power, lumagda ng Emergency Power Supply Agreement sa loob ng 1 taon

Kinumpirma sa Radyo Pilipinas ng Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) na nakakuha muli sila ng panibagong Emergency Power Supply Agreement (EPSA) sa kumpaniyang Aboitiz Power Corporation.

Ayon kay Ann Claire Feliciano ng MERALCO Corporate Communications, layunin nitong mabawasan ang binibili nilang suplay ng kuryente mula sa Wholesale Electricity Spot Market o WESM

Dahil sa nilagdaang EPSA, kukuha ang MERALCO ng 370 megawatts (MW) na suplay ng kuryente mula sa Therma Luzon habang 300 MW naman ang mula sa South Premiere Power Corporation (SPPC) hanggang Marso 25 ng susunod na taon.

Kaya naman ayon sa MERALCO, mapupunuan na nito ang 670 MW na kapasidad na itinigil ng South Premier Power Corporation matapos suspindehin ang kanilang Power Supply Agreement.
