Muling humirit ang isang mambabatas para mabigyan ng dagdag benepisyo at angkop na kompensasyon ang mga barangay health worker o BHW.
Ayon kay ANAKALUSUGAN Party-list Representative Ray Reyes, matagal nang isyu ang hindi sapat na benepisyong nakukuha ng mga BHW kaya’t napapanahon nang maipagkaloob sa kanila ang karampatang suporta kapalit ng kanilang serbisyo at sakripisyo.
Dahil dito hiling ni Reyes na kagyat na mapagtibay na ang Magna Carta for Barangay Health Workers.
“The importance of our Barangay Health Workers in providing accessible and quality medical assistance in the grassroots cannot be overstated. We need to protect the well-being of our BHWs and provide them with competitive compensation and benefits for their services,” saad ni Reyes.
Sa ilalim ng panukala bibigyan ng insentibo at benepisyo ang mga BHW gaya ng hazard allowance, transportation allowance, subsistence allowance, one-time retirement cash incentive, health benefits, insurance coverage, at vacation at maternity leaves. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
