Naka-asa ngayon ang Department of Health (DOH) sa mga donasyon para magkaroon ang bansa ng bivalent COVID-19 vaccines.
Sa pagharap ng ahensya sa House Committee on Appropriations, humingi ng update si Committee Senior Vice Chair at Marikina Representative Stella Quimbo hinggil sa suplay ng bivalent vaccines sa bansa.
Ayon kay DOH Officer-in-Charge Ma. Rosario Vergeire, darating ang mga donasyong bivalent vaccine bago matapos ang Mayo.
At uunahin na mabigyan ang senior citizens at healthcare workers.
Ngunit puna ng Marikina solon, bakit tila hindi agresibo ang pamahalaan sa pagbili ng bivalent vaccine at sa halip ay umaasa lamang sa donasyon.
Natanong din nito kung may pera ba ang ahensya pambili.
Paglilinaw ni Vergeire, may pera ang DOH pambili ng bivalent vaccine, ngunit dahil sa lifted na ang State of Calamity, wala nang batas na maaaring basehan para bumili ng bakuna na bahagi ng requirements ng manufacturers bago pumasok sa kasunduan.
“We did all things possible…unfortunately procurement is a non-option for us right now because of the existing laws in the country.
