Sinimulan na ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang paglalatag ng mga inisyatibo tungo sa digital transformation sa mga programa ng ahensya.
Ayon kay DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, tinatarget nitong gawing seamless na ang paghahatid ng social protection services sa publiko sa pamamagitan ng state-of-the-art digital public infrastructure (DPI) technologies.
Nilalayon din nitong mawala na ang red tape sa kanilang mga proseso, at mas mapabilis rin ang pagpapaabot ng tulong sa mga nangangailangan.
Sa kasalukuyan ay tuloy-tuloy na aniya ang usad ng overhauling sa information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure ng ahensya.
Kasama rito ang pag-develop ng digital platforms para sa mga programa nito at serbisyo.
Ongoing rin ang mga training at development program, para maiangat ang kapasidad ng kanilang workforce.
Pati na ang pagbuo ng Digital Transformation Team, na kinabibilangan ng mga eksperto sa Information and Communications Technology discipline.
