Government to Government na pagbili ng mga license card, pinag-aaralan na ng DOTr

Pinag-aaralan na ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) ang posibilidad na pagkuha sa serbisyo ng ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan, upang masolusyunan ang kakapusan sa suplay ng mga plastic card na ginagamit sa mga driver’s license.

Ayon kay Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, nakikipag-ugnayan na sila sa National Printing Office (NPO) para tumulong sa kanila bunsod ng teknikal na kapabilidad nito sa pagsuplay ng mga license card.

Inihaluntulad ni Bautista sa proseso ng bidding para sa pagbili ng mga lisensya ng mga tsuper ang pagkomisyon sa NPO para tugunan ang agarang pangangailangan dito.

Maliban sa NPO, sinabi rin ni Bautista na makikipag-ugnayan din sila sa APO Production Unit kaugnay ng usapin.

Batay sa umiiral na mga batas at regulasyon, kailangan ng Central Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) ng karagdagang detalye bago isapinal ang “agency-to-agency arrangement” sa pamamagitan ng Memorandum of Agreement.

Kasalukuyang mayroong “competitive bidding” para sa mga license card, at nagtakda na rin ng deadline sa pagsusumite maging sa opening bids sa Mayo 24 ng taong kasalukuyan.

Samantala, kasalukuyang tinutugunan ng Bids and Awards Committee ang natatanggap nilang mga isyu at komento mula sa “prospective bidders” ukol sa Terms of Reference (TOR) na isinumite ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) noong Marso 21. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
