Halos 700,000 family food packs, nakahanda na para sa mga inaasahang tatamaan ng super typhoon Mawar

Tuloy-tuloy na ang ginagawang paghahanda ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) para agad umayuda sa mga inaasahang masasalanta ng bagyong Mawar.

Kasunod ito ng lalong paglakas ng bagyo na isa nang super typhoon.

Ayon sa DSWD, sa kasalukuyan ay aabot na sa 689,885 Family Food Packs (FFPs) ang nakahanda na habang may mga naipadala na ring relief packs sa Regions I (Ilocos Region), II (Cagayan Valley), III (Central Luzon), Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), at Visayas Region.

Bukod naman sa relief goods ay nakikipag-ugnayan na rin ang DSWD Field Offices (FOs) sa Local Social Welfare and Development Offices (LSWDOs) at Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (LDRRMOs) para sa disaster response preparations.

Ayon kay DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, nakahanda rin silang magbigay ng logistical support para sa mga LGU na maaapektuhan ng bagyo.

“We already started mobilizing as early as last weekend so the food packs will be there, and then our field offices are now tasked to work with the local government units to see to it that the LGUs in those areas that will be affected know that the logistical support of the DSWD is around,” ayon sa kalihim.

Kasunod nito, nagpaalala naman ang DSWD sa publiko na maging alerto sa at regular na umantabay sa mga weather updates at abiso ng kanilang lokal na pamahalaan.  | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
