Naniniwala si House Speaker Martin Romualdez na lalo pang lalakas ang posisyon ng Pilipinas para makaakit ng mga mamumuhunan kasunod ng ipinakitang interes ng US companies na magbukas ng trabaho bansa.
Sa official working visit ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa Estados Unidos ay maraming kasunduan ang nalagdaan na magdadala ng dagdag trabaho at kita sa Pilipinas.
“I am confident that these initial fruits of the President’s labor during his official visit to the US will boost investor confidence in the Philippines, giving us reason to expect additional investments and more jobs for our people,” saad ng House leader.
Kabilang dito ang Carnival Group of companies na nakatakdang mag-hire ng 75,000 Filipino seafarers sa susunod na tatlo hanggang apat na taon.
Inaasahan rin ang pagbubukas ng kauna-unahang call center office ng business process outsourcing (BPO) firm Atento sa Iloilo.
Ang kumpanya naman na Optum ay maglalagak ng Php800 million na investment para sa medical BPO na magbubukas ng 1,500 na trabaho.
Dagdag employment opportunity din ang bubuksan ng planong “Shared Service Facility for Pharmacovigilance” ng Moderna sa bansa lalo na para sa health professionals.
