Siniguro ni House Secretary General Reginald Velasco na proprotektahan ng Kamara si Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr. sakaling umuwi ito ng bansa.
Ito aniya ang kaniyang sinabi sa kapatid ng kongresista na si dating Gov. Pryde Teves nang tumawag ito kay Velasco.
Ayon kay Velasco, tumawag sa kaniya ang dating gobernador upang sabihin na wala rin siyang alam kung may katotohanan na uuwi nga ang kaniyang kapatid ngayong araw.
“Tumawag yung brother niya sa akin, si former Congressman Pryde [Teves]. Ang sabi niya, kahit siya walang confirmation na darating talaga siya [Arnie Teves]. Kami naman si Speaker [Martin Romualdez] as before, he welcomes, in fact he is willing to provide security and other arrangements…they will be under our protection pagka-bumalik siya at dito nagpunta sa House.” sabi ni Velasco
Kung matatandaan, kahapon nang ihayag ni Justice Sec. Jesus Crispin Remulla na babalik ng Pilipinas ngayong araw si Teves.
Bagay na pinabulaanan ng kongresista sa mensaheng ipinadala sa House media.
Ayon naman kay Velasco, hihintayin muna nila na matapos ang ipinataw na 60-day suspension sa kinatawan bago muling magpulong ang House Committee on Ethics sa susunod na aksyon kung hindi pa rin uuwi si Teves.
Umaasa naman si Velasco na bago ang sine die adjournment ay may rekomendasyon na ang komite hinggil dito
“Sa bilang namin [matatapos] sa May 22. 60 days po kasi…we hope the Committee on Ethics will have some action on it. As you know wala tayong precedence…so it’s really up to the Committee on Ethics to submit their recommendations and then it has to be voted upon by the plenary.
