P240M grant, ipinagkaloob ng U.S. Sa mga lokal na ngo sa pagdiriwang ng International Day of Diodiversity

Ipinagkaloob ng United States Agency for International Development (USAID) ang kabuuang 240 milyong piso ($4.3 Million) grant sa mga lokal na Non-Government organization sa pagdiriwang ng International Day for Biological Diversity, kahapon.

Ang naturang grant ay pampondo sa 11 proyekto na tutugon sa mga hamon dulot ng climate change sa iba’t ibang mga komunidad sa bansa.

Ang pag-anunsyo sa grant ay ginawa ni U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson, kasama si Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary Juan Miguel Cuna at Gerry Roxas Foundation Executive Director Glen de Castro.

Ang mga tumanggap ng grant ay ang: BaiAni Foundation, CBCP Caritas Filipinas Foundation, Coastal Conservation and Education Foundation, Diliman Science Research Foundation, Impl. Project Philippines, Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities, Mabuwaya Foundation, Surigao Economic Development and Microfinance Foundation, Tanggol Kalikasan, University of Santo Tomas Research and Endowment Foundation, at Xavier Agricultural Extension Services Foundation.

Mula 2021, nakapagbigay na ang USAID ng kabuuang 620 milyong piso ($11.7 Million) sa mga Civil-society organizations para makamit ang environmental sustainability ng mga komunidad sa Pilipinas.
