Tuloy-tuloy ang ginagawang repatriation ng pamahalaan sa mga overseas Filipino worker (OFW) na naipit sa sumiklab na civil war sa bansang Sudan.

Ayon kay Migrant Workers Secretary Susan “Toots” Ople, nakatakdang umuwi sa bansa ang may 340 OFWs na hahatiin “by batch.”

Bukas, May 3, inaasahang darating sakay ng Saudia Airlines ang may 80 OFWs habang may karagdagang 72 pa ang uuwi naman sa Mayo 4.

Kabilang aniya ito sa 340 OFWs na nasagip ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) sa Sudan habang sinasamantala ang idineklarang caesefire roon.

Sasamahan ang mga ito ni Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Administrator Arnell Ignacio sa kanilang pagbabalik bansa.

Kasunod nito, nagpapasalamat si Ople sa mga ahensya ng pamahalaan at pribadong sektor, na tumulong sa kanila para ganap na mapauwi ang mga kababayang naipit sa gulo sa nasabing bansa. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
