Iminungkahi ni House Deputy Minority leader France Castro sa pamahalaan na ilipat na lang ang pondo ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) para sa pamamahagi ng fuel subsidy sa Occidental Mindoro.
Aniya sa mga nagdaang taon ay naging mababa ang utilization rate ng NTF-ELCAC sa kanilang Barangay Development Program budget na dapat sana ay ginamit para sa farm to market roads, pagpapatayo ng eskuwelahan, health station, water and sanitation system at maging electrification.
Ngunit batay na rin sa accomplishment report noong December 2022, wala pang kalahati ng 2021 BDP Funds ang nagamit.
Dahil dito, mas maigi ani Castro na ilipat na lang ang pondo ng NTF-ELCAC sa ibang programa na mas pakikinabangan ng publiko.
Isa na nga aniya rito ang subsidiya sa Occidental Mindoro na kamakailan ay nakaranas ng krisis sa suplay ng kuryente.
“But with the NTF-ELCAC’s dismal implementation of its projects, it would be best that not just the funds for the Occidental Mindoro barangays are utilized for the fuel subsidies of the whole province and even that of Oriental Mindoro so that the charges would not be passed through the province’s electricity consumers or all electricity consumers of the country thru the universal charge,” saad ni Castro. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
