Malugod na tinanggap ng Department of National Defense (DND) ang pagbisita ni Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Johan Forssell.

Dito ay nakapulong ni Forssell si Acting Undersecretary of National Defense Angelito M. De Leon.

Napag-usapan ng dalawang opisyal ang patuloy na lumalawak na ugnayan ng Pilipinas at Sweden sa iba’t ibang larangan mula sa ekonomiya hanggang sa depensa.

Inaasahan ng dalawang opisyal ang pagpapalakas ng ugnayang pandepensa ng dalawang bansa sa paglagda ng isang memorandum of understanding (MOU) on defense materiel acquisition.

Tiniyak naman ni Forssell ang intensyon ng Sweden na magtatag ng isang “sustainable and long term partnership” sa Pilipinas. | ulat ni Leo Sarne
