Back-to-school campaign para dagdagan ang enrollees sa BARMM, isinusulong ni Sen. Win Gatchalian

Iminumungkahi ni Senador Sherwin Gatchalian ang pagsasagawa ng pinaigting na kampanyang back-to-school sa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), para tugunan ang mababang enrollment sa rehiyon.

Batay sa datos mula sa Department of Education (DepEd), 17 lamang sa bawat 100 mag-aaral na pumasok sa Grade 1 noong School Year (2010-2011) ang nakatapos ng Grade 12 pagdating ng SY 2021-2022.

Ikinababahala rin ni Gatchalian, na halos kalahating milyong kabataan sa BARMM ang wala sa paaralan bagama’t umabot sa 991,243 ang enrollment sa rehiyon.

Lumalabas din sa datos ng DepEd na 6 percent o 28,832 out-of-school youth lamang ang naka-enroll sa Alternative Learning System (ALS).

Ayon sa Senate Basic Education Committee chairperson, kailangang hikayatin ang mga magulang at kabataan sa BARMM na magbalik at manatili sa mga paaralan.

Sa pagpapatupad ng back-to-school campaign, binigyang diin ni Gatchalian na kailangang makipagtulungan sa Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education ng BARMM.

Binigyang diin rin ng senador, na kailangang puntahan ang bawat sambahayan sa tulong ng mga alkalde, barangay captain, at iba pang community leaders.

Isinusulong din ni Gatchalian, ang pagpapatupad ng mga programang magpapanatili sa mga mag-aaral sa paaralan, lalo na ang mga mag-aaral sa Grade 1 hanggang Grade 6 kabilang na ang pagpapatupad ng school feeding program.

Iminumungkahi rin ng senador ang maigting na pagpapatupad ng programang ALS para linangin ang kakayahan ng kasalukuyang working population at ng mga out-of-school youth. | ulat ni Nimfa Asuncion
