Mas dapat tutukan ng Department of Health (DOH) ang pag-hire o pagkuha ng mga unemployed nurses at yung mga inactive nurses para punan ang kakulangan ng nurse sa bansa.
Ayon kay Anakalusugan Party-list Representative Ray Reyes, maraming Nursing board passers ang naghahanap ng trabaho at sila aniya ang dapat unahin bago ang mga hindi pa nakakapasa ng board exams.
Kung matatandaan isa sa inaaral na solusyon ng DOH para mapunan ang nurse sa government hospitals ay ang pagbibigay ng temporary license sa mga hindi pumasa sa Nursing board ngunit may grado na 70% hanggang 74%.
“Let’s prioritize first those that pass the board but have no opportunity to practice before we accept those that don’t make the cut as it may set a precedent that we will settle for below standards for our people, not to mention how we hold non-license earners accountable for any errors in practice,” ani Reyes.
Kasabay nito pinaaaral ni Reyes sa DOH kung bakit marami sa mga Nursing board passers ang hindi nagpa-practice ng kanilang propesyon.
