Tinalakay ng Department of Migrant Workers at ng embahada ng Portugal ang Bilateral Labor Agreement sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Portugal para sa pagpapadala ng Overseas Filipino Workers.

Isinagawa ito sa courtesy call ni non-resident Ambassador of Portugal to the Philippines Maria Jao Falcao Lopes Cardoso kay Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople kahapon.

Layunin nito na ilatag ang mga oportunidad sa trabaho para sa OFWs partikular sa umuusbong na sektor ng Information Technology.

Pinag-usapan din ang mga hakbang para masugpo ang human trafficking.

Base sa tala ng embahada ng Pilipinas sa Portugal noong 2022, nasa 1,726 ang bilang ng mga Pilipino na nakatira sa naturang bansa kung saan karamihan ay nagtatrabaho bilang services and sales workers, plant and machine operators, at clerical support workers. | ulat ni Bernard Jaudian Jr.
