BJMP 11, nakikipag-ugnayan sa mga higher education institutions sa Davao region upang pag-aralan ang sanhi ng pagpapabalik-balik ng mga PDL sa kanilang piitan

Nakikipag-ugnayan ngayon ang Bureau of Jail Management and Penology 11 (BJMP 11) sa lahat ng mga Higher Education Institutions sa buong Davao Region para magsagawa ng pag-aaral hinggil sa kung paano mapipigilan ang pagpapabalik-balik ng mga persons deprived of their liberty sa kanilang mga piitan.

Sa nakaraang AFP-PNP Press Corps Southern Mindanao Media Briefing, inihayag ni BJMP 11 Community Relations Service Chief Jail Sr. Insp. Ellen Rose Saragena na napansin nila sa kanilang datos ngayon na may ilang mga nakalaya ng PDL bumabalik na naman sa kulungan dahil gumawa na naman ito ng krimen lalo na sa ilegal na droga.

Sa kasalukuyang bilang ng mga PDL sa Davao City Jail pa lamang, mayroon na itong halos 4,000 at 80% nito ang sangkot sa ilegal na droga.

Ayon kay Saragena na layunin ng isasagawang pag-aaral na malaman kung ano ang sanhi kung bakit mas pinipili nitong magbalik sa piitan kaysa magbagong buhay.

Paliwanag nito na nais din nilang masolusyonan ang ganitong pangyayari at ma-reintegrate ang mga nakalayang PDL sa kanilang komunidad.

Target din ng pag-aaral na makalikha ng information education campaign plan para sa komunidad para ituro dito kung ano dapat ang mga trato sa mga PDL na nakalaya matapos mapawalang sala para mawala ang stigma ng publiko na kung galing sa kulungan ay isa pa rin itong kriminal. | ulat ni Armando Fenequito | RP1 Davao
