BSP Gov. Medalla, nag-farewell call na sa Malacañang

Nagpaalam na kay Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. si Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Felipe Medalla, na ang termino ay matatapos sa ikalawa ng Hulyo.

Kasama ni Medalla sa farewell call sa Malacañang si BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo – Puyat.

Sa pulong, pinasalamatan ni Pangulong Marcos si Medalla, kasabay ng pagkilala nito sa naging papel ni Medalla sa pagpapagaan ng epekto ng inflation sa bansa.

“We have to thank you. Yes. Maraming, maraming salamat,” —Pangulong Marcos.

Kung matatandaan, una nang napili ni Pangulong Marcos si Eli Remolona, na pupuno sa pwesto ni Medalla.

Una nang sinabi ni PCO Secretary Cheloy Velicaria Garafil na malaki ang maia-ambag ni Remolona sa kaniyang bagong papel dahil sa lawak ng karanasan nito at achievement sa central banking, economic policy, international finance, at financial markets.
