Iminungkahi ni Cagayan de Oro Representative Rufus Rodriguez kay Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na pahintulutan na rin ang operasyon ng foreign airlines sa bansa.
Bunsod pa rin ito ng pagpuna ng veteran lawmaker sa aniya’y palpak na serbisyo ng budget carrier na Cebu Pacific.
Ayon kay Rodriguez, pinahihintulutan naman ito sa ilalim ng inamyendahang Public Service Act.
Sa paraan aniyang ito ay mayroon pang magiging ibang option ang mga Pilipino at hindi magtitiyaga sa iisang airline lang.
“The government should now open the country and invite foreign airlines to serve Filipinos, who should have options other than being forced to take Cebu Pacific with its terrible service,” diin ng mambabataals
Hinamon din ng kongresista ang iba pang domestic airlines lalo na ang flag carrier na Philippine Airlines na magbigay ng mas magandang serbisyo at tapatan ang fares o pasahe ng Cebu Pacific.
“I think that if the fare rates are comparable, Filipinos would prefer to take Philippine Airlines. PAL, with its newly installed young leadership, should try to regain its top spot as most preferred domestic and international carrier,” ani Rodriguez.
Una nang sinabi ng Mindanao solon na dapat suspendihin ang prangkisa ng Cebu Pacific dahil sa dami ng reklamo laban dito gaya na lamang ng overbooking at off-loading ng pasahero. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
