Itinuturing ni House Committee on Overseas Workers Affairs Chair Ron Salo na ‘remarkable achievement’ ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) ang isang milyong trabahong nakuha nito para sa mga Pilipino sa Saudi Arabia.
Aniya, ngayong may visa ban ang mga Pilipino sa Kuwait ay panibagong oportunidad ito para sa mga masisipag nating OFW.
“This is a indeed a great news for our nation and our hardworking Filipino workers. The DMW’s accomplishment in securing one million jobs in Saudi Arabia is a testament of President Bongbong Marcos’ unwavering commitment in uplifting the lives of Filipinos and providing them with better job prospects. While we acknowledge the challenges we face in Kuwait due to the visa ban on Filipinos, this significant opportunity in Saudi Arabia presents a ray of hope for our skilled workers,” saad ni Salo.
Dahil naman dito, pinababantayan ng mambabatas ang posibleng paglipana ng mga illegal recruiter na sasamantalahin ang sitwasyon.
Paalala nito sa mga OFW na nagbabalak na mag-trabaho sa Saudi Arabia na tiyaking otorisado at lisensyado ang mga recruitment agency kung saan sila makikipagtransaksyon.
“Our people must be vigilant against unscrupulous individuals who may exploit their aspirations for a better future. Our prospective migrant workers need to ensure that they only deal with authorized recruiters,” paalala ng KABAYAN party-list solon.
Sa ngayon dapat na rin aniyang mailabas ng DMW ang kinakailangan guidelines para sa naturang Special Hiring Program.
Maigi rin na makipagtulungan ang ahensya sa Technical Education And Skills Development Authority (TESDA) upang matiyak na equipped ang ating mga manggagawa sa kinakailangang kasanayan para sa mga bubuksang trabaho. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
