Ilang security agencies at muslim groups, aminadong may agam-agam sa pagpapatuloy sa Pilipinas ng Afghan nationals

Ipinahayag ng security agencies ng pamahalaan at ilang muslim groups ang kanilang agam-agam sa pagpapahintulot ng Afghan nationals dito sa bansa para sa pagpro-proseso nila ng kanilang US special immigration visa.

Para kay Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro, bagama’t una nang tiniyak ng Estados Unidos na dumaan na sa background check ang mga Afghan national bilang dati silang mga empleyado ng US sa Afghanistan, ang inaalala nila ay kung dumaan din ba sa vetting process ang dependents o kaanak ng mga empleyadong ito na eligible rin para sa special immigration visa.

Sinabi naman ni National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Deputy Director for Operations Jose Justo Yap, ang apprehension na nakikita nila ay ang posibleng pagkakaroon ng mga ito ng symphatizer mula sa southern Philippines.

Ang National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) naman, nag-aalala na sa oras na makapasok sa bansa ay mahihirapan silang ma-monitor ang galaw ng mga Afghan.

Aniya, may posibilidad rin na ma-activate ang mga tinatawag na ‘sleepers’ na makakaapekto naman sa pagbuhay ng mga aktibidad sa katimugang bahagi ng Pilipinas.

Pangamba naman ng National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, ang planong pagpapatuloy ng Afghan nationals sa bansa ay maaaring magbunga ng pagiging target ng Pilipinas ng mga pag-atake ng iba pang mga teroristang grupo.
