Ilang technical at administrative issues, nakikitang dahilan kung bakit ‘di pa natatanggap ng ilang healthcare workers ang kanilang COVID-19 allowance

Nilinaw ng Department of Health (DOH) na naimapahagi na ang nasa 90 percent ng pondo para sa COVID-19 benefits ng mga healthcare worker.

Sa press briefing sa Malacañang, sinabi ni Health Secretary Ted Herbosa na base sa natanggap niyang ulat, kung mayroong mga healthcare workers na hindi pa nakakatanggap ng kanilang COVID-19 allowance, ito ay ang mga nurse mula sa mga pribadong ospital.

“The report to me is that most of the benefits have already been given out. There are some those who have not received and some technical issues with the hospital administration or directors of them, and I was told, it was mostly private hospitals. So sa government, nabigay lahat iyan.” — Secretary Herbosa

Paliwanag ng kalihim, ito ay dahil sa ilang technical o administrative issues sa private hospitals, at sa proseso na kailangang masunod bago maibaba ang allowance sa mga healthcare worker.

“Kasi may mga hinihingi ‘eh. Nag-duty ka ba talaga doon sa COVID ward? Ilang days ka nag-duty doon? Iyong documentation noon, I think those were not distributed, is a problem. Pero kawawa iyong nurse, ako to me, kawawa iyong nurse, proseso ito. But I also cannot change the process, makukulong naman ako kung sasabihin ng nurse “Doctor Herbosa, wala pa akong benefit,” “Oh, ito ang benefits mo” because there’s a process; and their hospital directors and their regional directors will actually follow. So that’s the good thing.” — Dr. Herbosa
