Pormal na binuksan ng Integrated Provincial Health Office ng Tawi-Tawi sa tulong ng International Organization for Migration (IOM) at Korean International Cooperation Agency ang kauna-Unahang Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory for COVID-19 sa buong BARMM region.

Ang handover ceremony ng nasabing laboratory ay ginanap sa IPHO Ground at dinaluhan ni Madam Erina Yamashita, Project Development Officer ng IOM, Board Member Abduljamil Ismael ng Provincial Government ng Tawi-Tawi at Dr.Tato Usman ng BARMM Minister of Health.

Pagkatapos ng Handover, kaagad ding ginanap ang ribbon cutting ceremony ng nasabing diagnostic laboratory na syang pinangungunahan ni Dr. Sangkula G. Laja.

Ayon kay Laja ang nasabing laboratory ay gagamitin hindi lamang para sa COVID-19 bagkus ito ay gagamitin din para sa diagnosis ng mga pasyente na may sakit na tubercolosis at HIV-AIDS diseases. | ulat ni Sharon Jamasali | RP1 Tawi-Tawi
