Nagpaalala si National Unity President at Camarines Sur Representative LRay Villafuerte na makakaapekto sa pagkamit ng Agenda for Prosperity ng Marcos Jr. administration kung uunahin ang usaping politika.
Ayon sa mambabatas, masisira lamang ang magandang nasimulan ng supermajority alliance sa Kongreso sa pagkamit ng mithiin ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. kung iiral ang political discord.
Kaya naman panawagan ni Villafuerte na panatilihin ang unity o pagkakaisa sa pagitan ng lehislatura at ehekutibo upang mas maisulong pa ang mga polisiya na makapagbibigay ng mas magandang buhay para sa mga Pilipino.
“Our nation’s leaders would break faith with this broad and deep public support for national unity were we to waste our time with vacuous political discord that could only break apart the supermajority coalition in both the House and the Senate—and wreak havoc on the ‘Agenda for Peace and Prosperity’ of President Marcos to improve the lives of all Filipinos,” ani Villafuerte.
Binigyang-diin din nito na mananatiling nakatuon at nagkakaisa ang Kamara, sa ilalim ng liderato ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez, sa pagpapasa ng mga panukalang batas para maisakatuparan ang mga nais ng Pangulo.
Ito rin aniya ang dahilan kung bakit sa pagtatapos ng first regular session ng 19th Congress ay napagtibay nila ang 33 sa 42 Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) priority bills ng administrasyon.
