Pension fund para sa mga maliliit na magsasaka, mangingisda, itinutulak ng party-list solon

Nais ng isang mambabatas na bumuo ng pension fund para sa mga mga maliliit na magsasaka at mangingisda na karamihan ay lugmok sa kahirapan.

Sa ilalim ng House Bill 7963 na inihain nina Bicol Saro party-list Rep. Brian Yamsuan at Camarines Sur Rep. LRay Villafuerte, itatatag ang Agricultural Pension Fund (AFP) na pangangasiwaan ng Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC).

Mandato rin ng PCIC na bumuo ng pension plan para sa retirees ng agriculture sector gayundin ay pamahalaan at i-invest ang AFP para ito ay lumago at magtagal.

Tinukoy ni Yamsuan ang datos ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) kung saan nagkaroon ng pagbaba sa bilang ng mga manggagawa sa sektor ng agrikultura at iniuugnay ito sa maliit na kita.

Mula sa 11.294 million noong 2015 ay bumaba ito sa 9.698 million noong 2019.
