Tuloy-tuloy ang paghahanap ng paraan ng Marcos administration upang mapalakas ang ekonomiya ng Pilipinas, at maging globally competitive ang bansa.
Sa press briefing sa Malacañang, sinabi ni DTI Secretary Alfredo Pascual, na inaprubahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang inilatag na Philippine Export Development Plan 2023 – 2028 (PEDP) sa sectoral meeting sa Malacañang ngayong araw.
Lalamanin ng plano ang mga istratehiya, programa, proyekto, at direksyong tatahakin ng administrasyon sa pagpapalakas ng export sector ng bansa.
“This plan will help us uplift the government’s, I mean, the Philippines’ performance in exports. It may not be to, yet match the levels achieved by the more progressive neighbors that we have but it will certainly improve the volume of our exports.” —Secretary Pascual.
Kabilang sa mga hakbang na ito ang pag-develop ng export cluster sa pamamagitan ng pagtugon sa mga hamon sa produksyon.
“The first challenge is helping industries produce products that can compete in the market – this requires input of technology, it requires raising of productivity, training of the people that they employ, etcetera.” —Secretary Pascual.
Kabilang rin ang pagpapatatag ng export ecosystem, at pagtataas ng mindshare ng Pilipinas sa global market.
“Now, developing this ecosystem is a major task that involves various agencies of the government. So we’re working with them including our own customs for example – the rules that exporters have to observe and the requirements for exporting coming from some regulatory agencies.” —Secretary Pascual. | ulat ni Racquel Bayan
